CIS Management awarded Management Company of the Year, along with individual awards for staff
CIS Management, Inc., received six awards, including Management Company of the Year, at the 27th annual New Jersey Apartment Associations (NJAA) Garden State Awards gala on November 8, at iPlay America in Freehold.
The Garden State Awards recognize achievement among leaders in the rental housing industry. President Diana Penn of Asset Living was the gala's emcee this year, along with two of the three judges, Scott Machlovitz of Hilton Realty and Jeff Halter of LPZ Bentram, on the stage for congratulatory handshakes.
CIS management nominees had to submit an application, photos, letters from residents and/or peers, and other supporting documents to be considered for an award.
"With our incredible membership constantly raising the bar, the competition for a Garden Sate Award was tougher than ever before," said NJAA Executive Director and CEO David Brogan. "In the face of new and evolving challenges in our industry, this outstanding group of highly-professionalized property owners, property managers, developers and vendors illustrate the very best our industry has to offer."

The management team is responsible for the day-to-day management tasks encompassing more than 3,800 affordable housing units developed and owned by CIS Inc.
The five CIS Management staff members who won individual awards included -
Emory Collymore, Porter of Marveland Cresent, Facility Managers Melvin Brown of North Brunswick Cresent and Daniel Caban of Heritage Village at Ocean; Assistant Property Manager, Lashana Andrews of Portside/WatersEdge and Nicole Sumners, Corporate Support, Resident Relations.

The Garden State Awards are given by the NJAA, the premier trade association representing all facets of the multifamily housing industry, including market rate and affordable housing owners, managers, developers and suppliers. NJAA's membership owns and manages over 230,000 apartments, providing quality housing to over one million New Jerseyans.
